Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password.

Employer information: Company name, website, location, and job posting details.

Candidate information: Name, email, phone (optional), location, resume, LinkedIn URL, skills, and work preferences. This information is used to build your candidate profile.

Usage data: We may collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, search queries, and actions taken.

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the Service
• Match candidates with relevant job listings
• Allow employers to search the candidate database
• Send transactional emails (job alerts, application confirmations, listing renewals)
• Process payments via Stripe
• Improve our Service and develop new features

Candidate contact information (email, phone) is cloaked by default. Employers browsing the resume database can view your professional profile but cannot see your contact details unless they purchase a contact unlock.

You may request removal of your profile at any time by emailing privacy@bessjobs.com.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• With employers (unlocked only): When an employer purchases a contact unlock for your profile, your contact details are shared with that employer only.
• Service providers: We use third-party services including Supabase (database/auth), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and Vercel (hosting). Each operates under their own privacy policies.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

We retain your information as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting privacy@bessjobs.com.

We use essential cookies to manage authentication sessions. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can control cookie settings through your browser.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and role-based access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

The Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date.
